Ukraine war illustrated, by ALEVTINA KAKHIDZE

In the context of its solidarity activities with Ukraine, the M HKA is giving special attention to important ensembles by Ukrainian artists from the museum’s collection.

The M HKA has had an ongoing association with Alevtina Kakhidze for several years now. Kakhidze turned her house in a village outside Kiev into an artist’s residence, and her garden into a laboratory for understanding the world. Kakhidze thinks in drawing. These are some of her drawings from the time of the beginning of the Russian invasion.

The M HKA also has two installations by Kakhidze in its care; one with some thirty fictional news broadcasts, including a dozen about the then conflict in Donbas.
